CAR-147(Basic) Training Organization, New Delhi
Indocopters Private Limited and Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University) have established a joint venture through MoU dated 14th June 2023 for conduct of B.Sc (Aeronautics) / CAR-147 (Basic) programme under Self Finance Scheme(SFS). This training programme has been established with an objective to provide a world class knowledge cum quality practical training in aviation at par with latest technology enabling students and making them competent for taking Module Examination of CAR 66 requirements, in order to acquire DGCA License (AME license in Mechanical/Avionics stream). The training syllabus has been framed in line with the syllabus prescribed by the University Grants Commission vide letter number 1-14/2016 (CP-II) dated 16 June 2017 as well as Civil Aviation Requirements for CAR-147(Basic) promulgated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). After successful completion of training, the students are awarded B.Sc. (Aeronautics) degree by the Jamia Millia Islamia and a Certificate of Recognition as per CAR-147 (Basic) by Indocopters Private Limited.

This is a three years under-graduate program and it will provide student a strong aviation background to pursue higher education in aviation, which will prepare them to be leaders of the aviation industry in the future. On the other hand, the students have vast career options in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering after acquiring requisite DGCA licence. The aviation industry is poised for substantial growth in India. The country has already witnessed the open skies policy which has led to significant increase in air services which in turn requires parallel growth in overall infrastructure and availability of skilled manpower in all streams connected with aviation industry ie. Airplanes, Helicopters and allied services.
Basic Aircraft Maintenance Training
The curriculum conforms to the ab-initio training requirements in the field of Aircraft maintenance engineering to prepare candidates to appear for basic AME licensing examinations conducted by DGCA. Students will have access to study the procedures for maintenance of helicopters in a CAR 145 approved maintenance organization. Faculty teams with a wealth of academic, practical and corporate experience are part of the Institute. The faculty includes, experienced engineers, industry experts covering engineering management, marketing, finance, infotech and material management. The training course in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering is designed to give the students comprehensive knowledge of aircraft and its systems with emphasis on skill development, and the good maintenance practices to enable them to become trained and competent maintenance professionals. The essential instructions include adequate amount of Theory classes & Practical sessions to achieve required skill in aviation field. Entire syllabus for CAR-147 (Basic) training has been split into five semesters which would be covered in a two and a half year time span.
